This course trains students in the science of takhrīj — sourcing ḥadīth back to their original references. Students will learn to locate a narration based on partial or full isnād, partial or complete matn, keywords, or thematic subject.
The course covers the primary reference works of takhrīj and teaches how to utilize modern digital tools that facilitate this process. Instruction includes the proper formatting of a takhrīj, alongside creating visual charts mapping the various transmission routes of a ḥadīth.
