Shaykh Farhan Ingar began his journey in the pursuit of sacred knowledge at a young age in Toronto, Canada. He memorized the Qur’an through the part-time Hifz program at the Islamic Foundation of Toronto, where he developed a deep connection with the Book of Allah.
Motivated to further his studies, Shaykh Farhan enrolled in the rigorous seven-year ʿĀlimiyyah program at Jāmiʿah Islāmiyyah Abū Bakr in Toronto, Canada. During this period, he engaged in an in-depth study of the classical Islamic sciences, delving deeply into the Arabic language—including Naḥw, Ṣarf, and Balāghah—as well as Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), Qur’ānic exegesis (Tafsīr), and the major books of Ḥadīth, among many other disciplines within the traditional curriculum. Alongside his formal studies, he also studied privately with scholars locally and internationally, further strengthening his grounding in the Islamic sciences through close scholarly mentorship. He completed the ʿĀlimiyyah program gaining a strong grounding in the classical scholarly tradition of Islam.

Iftāʾ Specialization

Continuing his pursuit of advanced scholarship, Shaykh Farhan is currently enrolled in a specialization program in Iftāʾ. Through this training, he is further developing his expertise in Islamic legal reasoning, the methodology of issuing legal verdicts (fatāwā), and the application of classical jurisprudence to contemporary issues.

Teaching and Community Service

Alongside his studies, Shaykh Farhan is actively engaged in teaching and community service. He currently serves full-time as an instructor for Tajwīd at Madrassa Faidul Qurʾān at Masjid Dār al-Salām in Toronto, Canada. In this role, he oversees Qur’ān instruction and Tajwīd education, helping Hifdh & ʿĀlimiyyah students perfect their recitation while cultivating a deeper appreciation for the Qur’ān.

Expanded Scholarship

In addition to his formal studies, Shaykh Farhan has received multiple ijāzāt (ʿāmmah and khāṣṣah) in the sciences of Ḥadīth and other Islamic disciplines from a number of distinguished scholars. Among those from whom he has been granted ijāzah are Shaykh Ayyub Surti from England, Shaykh Ibrahim Dewla from India, Shaykh Imdad Hasan from Pakistan, Shaykh ʿAli Salih al-Azhari from Egypt, and the renowned scholar of Qur’ānic recitation Shaykh Yahya al-Ghawthani from Turkey, among others.
