This classes further elucidates the difference between unintentional homicide and a semblance of unintentional homicide by means of a case study: homicide by haphazard driving. It then continues to discuss legal immunity, which is the basis of knowing in which cases will homicide result in Qisās and when it will not. Immunity is based on shared religion ie. Islam and or shared abode ie. Darul Islam, therefore: free Muslims, free non Muslim citizens, slaves, men and women alike, healthy sick, young old, the blood of all those mentioned is equal in the matter of lex talionis, a life for a life.
